Strengthening Our Executive Coaching Practice with New Director

Academic Search is delighted to welcome Meg Richtman as the new Director of our Executive Coaching Practice. With the significant growth in our coaching engagements since the launch of the practice in 2019, and a team of 25 seasoned coaches, our practice stands at the forefront of fostering leadership in higher education.

Ms. Richtman brings a dynamic blend of experience and leadership that is poised to enhance the capabilities and impact of our executive coaching practice. In this new role with our organization, we aim to not only streamline our operations but also enrich the support and resources available to our executive coaches, in turn amplifying the effectiveness and reach of our coaching engagements across the academic landscape.

Background and Experience

Ms. Richtman joins us with a robust background in higher education, spanning more than 25 years, with nearly 15 years in executive and cabinet-level positions. Her extensive experience includes serving as Vice President for University Advancement, Strategic Initiatives, and Enrollment, Marketing and Communications at three member institutions of the Council of Independent Colleges.

Starting her administrative leadership journey at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Ms. Richtman played a pivotal role in broadening and integrating alumni engagement programs across undergraduate, adult degree completion, and graduate levels. She led significant university advancement initiatives, managing development disciplines, alumni relations, marketing, and communications, and was the driving force behind the successful year-long national Centennial celebration.

At Iowa Wesleyan University, Ms. Richtman served on the President’s Cabinet for over a decade in vice-presidential roles overseeing advancement, strategic initiatives, government relations, and enrollment, marketing, and communications. She managed the Office of the President, spearheaded the long-range strategic planning process, and coordinated Board of Trustees affairs. Before joining us, she was a member of the President’s Council at Millikin University as Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing & Communications.

Education and Personal Life

Ms. Richtman holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications and a Master of Arts in organizational leadership, both from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She resides in Iowa with her husband, Mike, and their three children.

Looking Ahead

In her role at the Executive Coaching Practice, Ms. Richtman will focus on enhancing operational efficiencies and executive coach support resources. Her passion for organizational leadership and capacity building positions her uniquely to advance our mission of supporting and sustaining leaders in education.
