Our Parent Organization
Academic Search is not privately owned. All our marginal revenues are invested in the leadership development programs and initiatives of our parent organization, the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI). AALI is a non-profit organization, headquartered in Washington, D.C., working to strengthen campus leadership in public and private higher education.
In collaboration with AALI, we partner with the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) to provide leadership development programs that serve member institutions. AALI offers a wide range of leadership development programs, mentorship experiences, and networking opportunities to administrators already active in higher education.
Our association with AALI gives Academic Search:
- Unique Access to the Leadership Pipeline
More than 100 administrators each year take part in AALI programs such as the Executive Leadership Academy, which prepares cabinet officers for presidencies; the Becoming a Provost Academy, which serves chairs and deans; and the Senior Leadership Academy, which prepares administrators from all divisions in higher education for cabinet positions. There are now almost 800 AALI alumni serving higher education institutions around the country. - Diverse Talent Networks
We financially support the Millennium Leadership Institute, an AASCU program that provides rising leaders in underrepresented groups in higher education interested in career advancement, specifically presidential posts, an opportunity to take part in an intensive four-day professional development institute, followed by a year-long mentoring component. - A Service Mission
As the funding subsidiary of AALI, Academic Search devotes its proceeds to enabling AALI to offer services in the identification and development of leadership talent; seminars and workshops for academic leaders in various administrative positions; consultation to academic leaders and boards of trustees concerning traditional and emerging issues facing higher education and its governance; assistance during periods of administrative leadership transition; and support for higher education research and publications.
