Gwynedd Mercy University, a leader in nursing education for more than 70 years, seeks to fill three new faculty leadership positions within the Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing and Health Professions. In addition to supporting the growth and advancement of their respective programs, the new Graduate Nursing Program Director, Graduate Nursing Clinical Coordinator, and Program Coordinator for the Weekend BSN Program will serve as innovative leaders in the design and development of a new 65,000 square foot Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center, which will become the centerpiece of the Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Campus.
We seek qualified candidates to build on the University’s strength in and reputation for training highly skilled compassionate care professionals in the Mercy tradition and take a leadership role in addressing the growing nationwide shortage of qualified nursing professionals.
Construction of the new 65,000 square foot Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center, which will become the centerpiece of the Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Campus, is expected to begin within the next 9 to 12 months. The space will include immersive simulation and skills labs that provide opportunities for students to practice clinical skills and address complex patient scenarios. The Center also will provide space for inter-professional collaboration among programs.
As GMercyU approaches its 75th anniversary and prepares to launch a comprehensive campaign, we will continue to focus on adding state-of-the-art facilities and technologies that support innovative teaching and learning initiatives and look forward to welcoming three new nurse leaders who share our commitment to preparing Distinctive Mercy Graduates who are prepared to make a real and lasting difference in the communities where they live and work.
The three faculty leadership positions are as follows:
Graduate Program Director – This faculty position will oversee the graduate programs in nursing, with a focus on curriculum development, strategic planning, administrative and budget oversight.
NP/DNP Coordinator – This faculty position will oversee the NP/DNP curriculum, which requires revision to address the new essentials and NTF criteria, student issues, adjunct faculty, and work collaboratively with the Graduate Program Director.
Weekend BSN Coordinator – This faculty position will oversee the BSN weekend program curriculum, student issues, adjunct faculty, and work collaboratively with the other BSN coordinators.
