The Dean will lead a unique business education program that combines AACSB accreditation within a nationally recognized undergraduate liberal arts setting. The Else School also delivers excellence in graduate and professional education with established MBA, Executive MBA, MAcc and leadership and professional development programs through its executive education program. Founded in 1890, Millsaps is a nationally ranked liberal arts college dedicated to academic excellence, open inquiry and free expression, the exploration of faith to inform vocation and the innovative shaping of the social, economic and cultural progress of our region. Millsaps has an enrollment of approximately 700 students and employs 70 full-time faculty members. The student/faculty ratio at Millsaps is 9:1, and the average class size is 14.
The Else School of Management offers undergraduate majors in accounting, business administration and economics, as well as three graduate degrees: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), and Master of Accountancy (MAcc). The undergraduate business majors and MBA program became accredited by AACSB in 1990. The Else School has 14 full-time faculty, of which seven are tenured, six on tenure track and one full-time lecturer. The faculty is a talented, cohesive group of professionals that is committed to student success, delivering quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and to serving the Mississippi business community with leadership, training and professional development opportunities.
Millsaps seeks an energetic, innovative and outcomes driven leader who is passionate about student success, quality business education and program growth. The next Dean of the Else School will understand and promote the advantages of delivering business education in a residential liberal arts environment and, at the same time, be motivated to extend the School’s presence in graduate and professional development programs.
