As the chief academic officer of Iona University, the Provost reports directly to President Seamus Carey and serves on his Cabinet and senior leadership team. Iona seeks an experienced academic leader with a firm commitment to Catholic higher education and excellence in the liberal arts and professional programs, enthusiasm for innovation and diversity, and the ability to lead and inspire the faculty and academic staff with confidence, creativity, and a spirit of collaboration. The next Provost will take office in early summer 2023.
The Provost oversees the School of Arts and Science; the LaPenta School of Business; NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences; Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation; the Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging; the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning; Research and Grants; Libraries; Registrar; Information Technology; Academic Support Services; Honors Program; Special Sessions; and Study Abroad.
