Western Washington University (Western) invites nominations and applications for the Dean of the College of Business and Economics (CBE). The new Dean will join a friendly and collegial academic home, with exciting possibilities for innovative programs and partnerships, a highly accomplished and student-focused faculty, and a capable and engaged student body.
The Dean is the administrative leader of the College, serving to unite faculty and staff in consultative and collaborative work that advances the mutually shared mission of Western and of the College. Broadly, this involves having the ability to convey a compelling vision for the College, build trust amongst the College’s various stakeholders, and identify talents of faculty and staff, encouraging them to utilize their talents and passions while contributing to the fulfilment of Western’s mission. The Dean is an active and visible leader within both the University and greater community, with responsibilities for engaging in advancement fundraising activities that benefit the College mission. Reporting to the Provost/Executive Vice President, the Dean is a member of the Council of Deans and serves on a variety of campus committees.
