Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff and the North Valley of Phoenix, Arizona, seeks two experienced development professionals and collaborative leaders to serve as Associate Vice President – one for College Fundraising (AVPCF), and the other in Central Advancement (AVPCA). Descriptions of both can be found later in this document. This is an outstanding opportunity for talented and highly successful fundraisers to join the Advancement | Foundation team as new levels of giving are recognized and new leadership has enhanced opportunities to achieve those levels. Advancement plays a critical role in engaging volunteers and generating resources (private and human) to meet University goals.
The new Associate Vice Presidents should be collaborative, empathetic, motivational and inspirational. The team seeks leadership who lead by example and will be a voice for the team, with emotional intelligence and competency to bring out the best in them. The AVPs will speak to best practices and serve as voices of reason, support advocacy, and inclusion. Each will build relationships within the advancement team as well as with alumni and donors and with departments across the University and community. The Vice President seeks AVPs who will become part of their units and also connect college fundraising with central advancement.
With a rich history and tradition of support from alumni and friends, NAU has maintained a strong sense of community across the region, state, and beyond. New leadership at both the University and Advancement | Foundation has brought about several new fundraising initiatives with targeted goals and targeted outcomes to enhance the mission and future of the University. The advancement staff enjoyed collaboration and team building to recognize that exciting growth is on the horizon and these two key positions will be critical in guiding this renewed and refreshed approach to fundraising. Innovation has taken hold, and the new Associate Vice Presidents will be part of the visionary and hardworking team to support giving at the College level (AVPCF) and within the Central Advancement units (AVPCA).
