Bellevue College (BC) invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President of Administrative Services. This is a remarkable opportunity for an experienced, skilled, collaborative leader to join the senior leadership team at the largest of the 34 open-access community and technical colleges in the State of Washington. Independently accredited and highly ranked, Bellevue College is well known for providing innovative, affordable educational programs in the region.
Reporting to Dr. David May, who begins as President in July 2023, and serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President of Administrative Services facilitates and promotes effective support for the college’s mission of student learning by providing administrative services management for the college. Currently in a strong financial position with commitments to innovation, sustainability, and diversity, Bellevue College relies on the large, complex Administrative Services division to support key operations and services. The Vice President of Administrative Services serves as the college’s chief business and financial officer; manages the development of all budgets, contract approvals, and public records processes; directs campus public safety operations; operates college auxiliary services; and oversees all aspects of the physical plant and capital projects.
The Vice President serves on the management team for collective bargaining with employee organizations; works cooperatively with other Vice Presidents in establishing budgetary and performance targets; and represents the college to community groups and state organizations. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President contributes to policy formulation, strategic planning, financial health, and budget development and works collaboratively in support of a positive work environment, college effectiveness, and student success.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in and passion for leading, motivating, and supporting teams across a range of essential services. Knowledge of finances, human resources, capital projects, and auxiliary services is important, but the campus community expects a vice president who will be a caring leader and a steadfast advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at the college. The next Vice President of Administrative Services is expected to begin in January 2024.
