Dominican University (River Forest, IL), one of the nation’s most distinct Dominican Catholic institutions, invites applications, expressions of interest and nominations of candidates in its search for the University’s Executive Director of Nursing.
Reporting to Dr. Tamara Bland, Dean of the Borra College of Health Sciences, the Executive Director of Nursing (ED) will be responsible for providing academic leadership by setting the standards of intellectual engagement and accomplishment for Dominican University (DU) School of Nursing. The ED supports the strategic mission and vision to create and maintain an academic and scholarly environment that supports DU faculty and students. Nursing continues to be one of the fastest growing careers, with projected job growth of more than 25% over the next 10 years.
Dominican takes a relationship-centered approach to nursing education. DU students practice their nursing skills in high-tech simulation labs, collaborate with experienced faculty and prepare to serve as an agent of change in one of the world’s most rewarding professions. In keeping with Dominican’s mission, the nursing program provides a foundation for professional practice that respects the dignity of each and every person, pursuit of the common good, and concern for those most vulnerable.
