The Board of Trustees at Saint Xavier University (SXU) announces the national search for President. Saint Xavier University is a distinguished four-year, comprehensive, private Catholic institution located on the scenic southwest side of Chicago. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846, Saint Xavier is a teaching institution with a long-standing commitment to serving its local community, helping students realize their educational dreams and changing the trajectory of the lives of those students and their families.
The Board seeks an accomplished, relational leader who is passionate about the University’s mission and values and committed to an ethos of excellence, accountability, and student success. SXU is experiencing strong enrollment trends and positive institutional momentum, providing the next president with the opportunity to strengthen the sense of community while exploring—and pursuing—a long-term vision for the University. While it is not required that the President be Catholic, the successful candidate must embrace the Mercy charism, the University’s values, and the University’s Catholic identity.
Saint Xavier has one of the most diverse student populations among regional universities in the Midwest. More than 3,500 students are enrolled in one of SXU’s two colleges: the College of Liberal Arts and Education and the College of Nursing, Health Sciences and Business. SXU is deeply committed to student success, offering extensive resources for students both in and out of the classroom. The campus is rooted in its local community and offers a robust athletics program and five residential halls.
Full information about the position, including the application process, can be found in the position profile located in the Open Searches section of the Academic Search website. For additional information about Saint Xavier, please visit www.sxu.edu.
