Kennesaw State University (KSU), a comprehensive university with 11 colleges located on suburban campuses northwest of metro-Atlanta, invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Science and Mathematics and is responsible for setting strategic, operational, and financial directions of the College. KSU is a member of the University System of Georgia and the third-largest university in the state. A leader in innovative teaching, scholarship, and learning, KSU offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees to its more than 45,000 students. The Dean is expected to take office on July 1, 2024.
The Dean will guide the College’s efforts in cultivating excellence in curricula, academics, scholarship, research, and fundraising. The University is seeking an individual who will be a powerful advocate for the quantitative, physical, and natural science departments of the College, both within and beyond the University, and the Dean is charged with strategically and creatively leading the College into distinction within an R2 University. The College has 3,204 students, 57 of whom are master’s level students. The College offers six undergraduate degrees, five minors, and two master’s programs within five departments, namely: Chemistry and Biochemistry; Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology; Mathematics; Molecular and Cellular Biology; and Physics.
