Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), a state college located on campuses in Tifton and Bainbridge in south Georgia, invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost). The Provost, who is the chief academic officer, reports to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet. ABAC is a member of the University System of Georgia and enrolls 3700 students in its baccalaureate and associate degree programs. The Provost is expected to take office in June 2025.
The Provost will provide strategic leadership and execution across a variety of areas, including leadership for faculty, planning and implementing academic policies, guidance in the development of the curriculum, and overseeing the overall academic budget. ABAC is focused on providing hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for success in their careers, and students have the opportunity to pursue degrees from four academic schools: Agriculture & Natural Resources, Arts & Sciences, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Stafford School of Business. Woodroof Farm is a special asset of the College where students have many opportunities for experiential learning.
Margaret Venable and Maya Ranchod Kirkhope of Academic Search are assisting with this national search. Applications, nominations, and inquiries may be sent in confidence to ABACprovost@academicsearch.org. Although application materials will be accepted until a new Provost is selected, candidates should submit materials by December 2, 2024, for the most favorable consideration. For more information about the institution, position, qualifications, and application process, please review the search prospectus linked above.
