Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez, The Board of Trustees of The City University of New York (CUNY), and the Presidential Search Committee invite nominations and applications for the position of President at Kingsborough Community College. Kingsborough Community College (KCC) seeks an experienced, collaborative, visionary leader who is passionate about access, equity, and student success and supports the innovative pathways to higher education, continuing education, career, and economic advancement for the unique, diverse communities it serves.
The President serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the college, reporting to CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez and working within the policies set by the CUNY Board of Trustees. The primary responsibility of the President is to provide leadership to the college community to both conserve and enhance the education program. That responsibility encompasses ensuring the quality of faculty and academic leadership, student services and successful outcomes, preparation of the college budget and allocation of monies, general management of clerical, custodial, and professional administrative staff, and many other duties. KCC, Brooklyn’s only community college, recently celebrated 60 years of effectiveness in teaching and learning and is Niche’s 2024 selection as the Best Community College in New York. Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus on a peninsula hugged by Sheepshead Bay, Jamaica Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean, Kingsborough is an academic and economic anchor of Brooklyn. KCC is made up of a rich mosaic of people and mirrors the diversity of Brooklyn, with more than 70 languages spoken on campus.
KCC seeks an experienced, collaborative leader with a commitment to the unique mission and multiple roles of a 21st century urban community college, with a passion for promoting access, diversity, and economic opportunity. The President should have successful senior management level experience in an urban community college, institution of higher learning, or organization with strong connections to education. The new President should be an effective and exceptionally skilled communicator who will listen to and effectively relate to a diverse group of stakeholders and navigate a complex, multi-layered environment. An earned doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution is required. The salary range for this position is $250,000 to $340,000 with competitive benefits including but not limited to a housing allowance.
