Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Vice President, Administration and Operations (VPAO). The College seeks a creative, visionary leader of the business affairs staff and for the campus community who will be a valued, proactive partner for President Anthony Cruz, Ed.D. and the Executive Leadership Team. The VPAO leads efforts to apply data-informed decision-making and continuous quality improvement in planning and implementing strategies for mission support. The VPAO serves as a change agent for diversity, equity, inclusion, and multiculturalism as well as innovation, collaboration, legal compliance, and data analysis.
Milwaukee Area Technical College has a long history dating back to 1912, when it was founded as the Milwaukee Continuation School. It became one of the first technical and vocational schools in the United States. The school initially served young adults who had left high school to work but needed additional skills and training to advance in their jobs. Over time, the institution evolved to meet the demands of Milwaukee’s changing workforce and economy, expanding its programs to offer a wider array of technical and vocational training options.
Under the direct supervision of the President, the new VPAO oversees Finance, Construction Services, Facilities and Operations, Information Technology, and retail functions of the College while modeling efforts toward fiscal soundness. These functions include the Business Office, Construction Services, Sustainability, Facilities and Operations, and Student Accounts, which support internal and external stakeholders.
The Search Committee for MATC’s next VPAO is being assisted by Academic Search. Applications, nominations, and expressions of interest can be submitted in confidence to MATCVPAO@academicsearch.org. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but only those received by midnight CST on January 5, 2025, can be assured full consideration.
Application materials (to include a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of five references – who will not be contacted without permission) must be electronically submitted in PDF format to: MATCVPAO@academicsearch.org.
