Higher Education Resource Services (HERS), a leadership development and research organization that is dedicated to creating and sustaining a diverse network of women leaders in higher education, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of president. HERS is seeking an entrepreneurial and visionary leader who will embrace the organization’s mission and values, enhance its reputation, and build strategic relationships to grow and advance the organization and its programming. The new president is expected to take office on July 1, 2021, or as soon thereafter as is feasible.
HERS supports the advancement of women from the start of their careers all the way through to their transition into retirement. The organization’s programs are designed to serve faculty, staff, and administrators who identify as women and aspire to become bold leaders representing greater equity, inclusivity, and excellence in higher education. HERS believes that impactful leadership not only requires women in leadership positions but demands that each woman bring her unique voice and perspective to her leadership role.
The president of HERS reports to the Board of Directors and will lead a growing team responsible for overseeing the organization’s strategic direction, operations, and financial health. As HERS approaches its 50th anniversary, the next president will be charged with creating a vision for the future of the organization that raises its national reputation and charts an efficient and effective path forward. The new president is expected to be a visible leader who will continue, and expand, engagements with alumnae and external partners while exploring new programming opportunities and services in consultation with HERS’s staff and board.
