The College of Westchester (CW), a regionally accredited, student-centered, academically, and culturally diverse college located in White Plains, NY, is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs (AVPAA)/Dean of Faculty to join their dedicated and mission-focused leadership team. Reporting to the Provost/ Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty is responsible for providing leadership for the CW faculty, curriculum development, operational excellence, and strategic planning and is a key figure in the succession planning in academic affairs.
The AVPAA/Dean of Faculty will work closely with the Provost/VPAA and will be responsible for faculty support and development, ensuring the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, development, and evaluation of exceptional faculty, curriculum review and development, retention, and serving a population seeking social and economic mobility. The ideal candidate will bring academic leadership experience in various sectors of higher education, including the public, private not-for-profit and private for-profit sectors, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, innovation and vision in academic curriculum development, and the ability to support and advance the goals of CW with creativity and flexibility.
The Assistant Vice President will also serve as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to Middle States Commission on Higher Education, work closely with Department Chairs and the Dean of the Gateway Program (First Year Program) and lead curriculum review and development in compliance with New York State, CW’s regional accreditor, and the United States Department of Education.
