Ms. Dianne Kenney’s extensive background in human resources, leadership, and executive coaching makes her a natural fit for higher education consulting.
Ms. Kenney’s diversity of experience informs her work for Academic Search clients. At the start of her professional career, Ms. Kenney practiced education and public sector labor and employment law. Finding her labor and employment law work the most fulfilling, she eventually moved into public sector, and later higher education, human resources. Ms. Kenney held human resources leadership roles at Dartmouth College, Carnegie Mellon University, and Columbia University. She was recruited to the latter two universities, in part, because of her ability to quickly learn the culture of each institution. She was effective in her roles because of her ability to assemble and lead diverse teams and to raise questions directed at helping the institutions continuously improve the ways they support their faculty and staff through policy, process, hiring, and retention efforts.
Immediately before joining Academic Search, Ms. Kenney spent a few years as an executive advisor at Princeton University Press (PUP). In addition to executive advising, her responsibilities included coaching operations, editorial, production, marketing, and sales leaders in the U.S., U.K., and China. Ms. Kenney embraces each engagement as an opportunity to strengthen the institution and position it for future success. As a senior consultant, she draws on her years of experience in a way that ensures a search closes successfully. Her ability to learn institutional culture, effectively communicate with hiring managers and search committees, and identify talent especially suited to an open position, aid her in assembling diverse applicant pools. As a Senior Executive Coach, Ms. Kenney partners with clients to help them bring to their professional work their most authentic, effective, and fulfilled selves.
